So many memories

Created by Deborah 3 years ago

So much to remember, so hard to find the words.

First the comic - getting locked in the Tower Building on Holloway Rd with Jenny one Sunday when we lost track of the time; we ended up having to call the police who dragged a very grumpy building supervisor out of the pub to secure the building we had broken out of.

Second the professional - the tenacity Jenny showed to ensure what we were doing worked properly but most importantly that her 'team' were respected has stayed with me as a shining example of leadership. She worked miracles in those years, knowing when to use the quiet word but not shirking the metaphorical baseball bat in the University Secretary's office.

Third, and most important, the personal - as well as ensuring I got to work with my now wife Debz (Jenny was always right about who to appoint to roles!) she always seemed immune to the compromises of managing and was always true to her ideals and principles. It was a privilege to work alongside her and to stay part of her life in the subsequent years; meeting her with the Interfaculty gang each year in the Viet Garden was a highpoint of Christmas; the memory of Jenny will continue to grace those events and all of us will remember her with huge love.
